Liberty Wharf, Jersey
Liberty Wharf is a shopping centre in St Helier, Jersey, which opened in November 2010. Much of the site is a former abattoir which was restored and converted for use as a shopping centre.
The Project
Portus Retail were appointed by the owner of Liberty Wharf in August 2016 to create a retail, leasing, marketing & management strategy. Our goal was to add destination retail and leisure brands; achieve a fully-let centre; identify and engage local leasing agents, property managers and marketing specialists to deliver cost effective and efficient day to day management of the centre.
The results
New leases were signed with George, Moss Bros, M&S Home, M&S Simply Food and Body Rox (an established gym operator in St. Helier) along with a number of local speciality retailers. CBRE were engaged as property manager & leasing agents and Orchid as marketing consultant, allowing the centre management and marketing operations to be run at reduced costs. By January 2018 the centre was fully let and successfully sold in March 2018.
